Marcken Volmy, LMHC, NCC
We have all struggled at some point.
Feelings of depression and anxiety can leave the best of us feeling overwhelmed and broken.
I am here to help the clients I serve no matter what they are going through.
My clients can expect to connect with someone who will meet them right where they’re at as we navigate through life’s unexpected difficulties together.
I am an African American therapist of Haitian descent. I have over 6 years experience working as a counselor. As a licensed mental health counselor, I believe speaking to someone who is relatable, honest, caring, and non judgmental is a necessary ingredient to help move past life’s myriad of obstacles.
My scope of practice involves helping people work through their trauma, anxious thoughts, and feelings of depression.
I look forward to journeying through
life’s challenges with you!

Specialities
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
The form of therapeutic approaches that I typically utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
CBT is a form of psychotherapy or talk therapy that helps individuals in recognizing their irrational or negative thoughts, which will in turn help them to deal with their troubling situations in a much more healthy and effective manner.
Cognitive behavioral therapy has been known to be effective with a plethora of different mental health disorders and stressors, such as depression, simple and complex traumatic issues, managing stressful situations, and anxiety.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy treatment that helps clients to process their past or current traumatic memories. Traumatic experiences can leave us feeling stuck and at our wits' end. EMDR helps to unblock the part of the brain where the trauma initially occurred. You don't have to live the rest of your life with unprocessed trauma. You can find relief and lasting change with EMDR therapy.
